This Privacy Policy describes how John Nichols Psychotherapy ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit johnnicholspsychotherapy.com (the "Site") or submit information through it, such as a contact form or appointment request.
This policy covers the website only. It is separate from, and does not replace, the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices that governs your clinical and health records if you become a client. That notice is provided separately at intake and is available on request.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Contact form. When you use the contact form on this Site, we collect the name, email address, phone number and message you choose to provide.

Like most websites, our web server automatically logs standard technical information with each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the date and time of the request. We use this information only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Site.
Cookies
This Site uses a session cookie that is required for the Site's content management system to function correctly. We do not currently use advertising, tracking or third-party analytics cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to respond to your inquiries, schedule and manage appointments, and to operate, maintain and secure the Site. We do not use the information you submit through this Site for advertising or marketing unrelated to the services you requested.

Email and text messages are not secure. Please don't use them for urgent or sensitive information.
If You Are in Crisis
This Site and our contact form are not monitored for emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) any time, day or night, or call 911.
