John Nichols Psychotherapy is committed to making johnnicholspsychotherapy.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.
Measures We Take
We work to support accessibility through measures that include:
- Semantic HTML headings, landmarks and lists so the page structure makes sense to assistive technology
- A "skip to main content" link so keyboard users can bypass repeated navigation
- Full keyboard navigation, without requiring a mouse or touch screen
- A color palette designed for sufficient contrast between text and its background
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Captions on our homepage video, along with a visible pause control and automatic respect for your device's "reduce motion" setting
- Periodic review using both automated accessibility checks and manual testing during development
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content on this Site may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations can include older content that has not been fully reviewed, or third-party embedded content (such as our appointment scheduler) whose accessibility we do not fully control. We are working to address these issues and welcome reports of specific barriers you encounter.
Compatibility
This Site is designed to work with current, up-to-date versions of major browsers (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge) and with assistive technologies that work with those browsers, including screen readers and voice-control software.
